You are going to be glad you found this Focus T25 Review…You’ll understand why once you finish the article!
I am going to first give you an overall look at the program and then we will get into the “good and the bad” of the Focus T25 workout. Its not perfect, but you’ll learn about that in a minute. I am also going to show you the full Focus T25 workout schedule (with free Focus T25 calendar download) and give you my thoughts on the Focus T25 Nutrition Plan (which has raised some eyebrows).
So lets GET IT DONE!
Focus T25 Review – The Overall program
As you can probably tell from all the Focus T25 Reviews out there now, Focus T25 has created quite the stir in the fitness community…even getting a homepage feature on Yahoo.com. The reason being is that never before has anyone even attempted to create a workout that is only 25 minutes, but touts 1 hour per day workout results! Not to mention, the fact that this program is only 25 minutes per day and only 5 days per week…its busting people’s excuses left and right. There is no more, “I ain’t got time to workout!”…sorry, YOU DO NOW!
I have done the workouts myself (actually got my T25 back in June before it was released) and right out of the gates, you are pumping some serious blood through those veins! These workouts are no joke and you are going to be sweating up a storm! A lot of people see that you are only working out for 25 minutes a day and they assume this is a fitness program for beginners. In no way is this program for beginners, but it is a great program for the beginner as well since it shows you how to modify all the moves (unlike Insanity).
Focus T25 Review – The Workouts/Schedule
The Focus T25 Schedule is broken up into 2 phases (Alpha and Beta) with a 3rd phase that is available for purchase separately (Gamma). Both the Alpha and Beta Phases are 5 weeks long and the Gamma Phase is 4 weeks.
As mentioned before, each workout is only 25 minutes, there is some tricky stuff in the schedule that they dont tell you about in the infomercial. On Friday’s, it is recommended in the Focus T25 Workout Schedule that you complete 2 workouts in one day! Also recommended is that if you miss a workout during the week, that you make it up on the weekend (your days off). Just wanted to give you a heads up on that one.
What to expect in the Alpha Phase workouts:
In the Alpha Phase your are going to focus on building your foundation of fitness using your own body weight. Core strength will be that foundation!
Workouts Include:
- Cardio
- Total Body Circuit
- Lower Focus
- Ab Intervals
- Speed 1.0
What to expect in the Beta Phase workouts:
In the Beta Phase you will be focusing on core conditioning!
Workouts Include:
- Upper Focus
- Core Cardio
- Speed 2.0
- Dynamic Core
- Rip’T Circuit
What to expect in the Gamma Phase workouts:
In the Gamma Phase you get to add weight! You will be focusing on building strength and lean muscle!
Workouts Include:
- Extreme Circuit
- Speed 3.0
- The Pyramid
- Rip’T Up

Focus T25 Review – The Good
Here is what I have found to be the bullet points that really make Focus T25 shine!
- The workouts are only 25 minutes (excuse buster!)
- There is 1 person showing the “modified” version in each video
- Shaun T has some of the most motivating words for you
- The queue’s are amazing! You know exactly what coming next
- The T25 Nutrition Guide is very simple!
- Next to no equipment needed (Just a resistance band unless you do the Gamma Phase)
Focus T25 Review – The Bad
Well, there really is nothing bad, but just some thing you might wish were different…
- The workouts are only 25 minutes…Our RIPPEDCLUB members are burning upwards of 400 calories in those 25 minutes, but you will never get the kind of calorie burn that you would expect with a 60 minute Insanity workout. None the less…400+ calories in just 25 minutes is still crazy!
- Simple Nutrition Plan (continued below)
- T25 is not optimized for muscle growth. Even in the Gamma Phase you will not need more than 20lbs. Its high reps low weights and cardio focused! Dont expect to make any massive size gains doing T25 with thos high reps and low weights…
Focus T25 Review – T25 Nutrition Plan
I give a FULL write-up on the Focus T25 nutrition plan in this post, but I still want to hit a couple of the main concerns here that I had. But the T25 Nutrition Guide is probably one of the most condensed nutrition plans I have ever seen. When you compare it to some others like the P90X Nutrition Plan or the Insanity Nutrition Plan, you are going to be pleasantly surprised at how simple they keep things.
The one thing that I will always stand firm on and recommend to my own team members here at RIPPEDCLUB, is that tracking your nutrition will always get you the most extreme, BEST results possible! Not only does it create an awareness of what you need to eat in order to reach certain types of goals (fat shredding, maintenance, energy, bulking), but it helps you stay on track!
Focus T25 is really targeted to a broader audience than something like Insanity or Body Beast, so its only fitting that the nutrition be simple enough to appeal to a more broad audience as well. The philosophy behind the Focus T25 Nutrition Plan is this:
“It’s simple. Eat smaller portions, 5 times a day.”
Eating every few hours has been proven to regulate blood sugar levels which prevents those crazy binge cravings and that up and down energy roller coaster. It has also been shown to improve your metabolism! The T25 diet recommends eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks every day.
The 4-Step Calorie Quiz
In the T25 Nutrition Guide you are shown what they are calling a “4-step calorie quiz” to figure out if you should be eating 1,200 calories or 1,600 calories per day. This is where the simplicity comes in. They only give you two calorie intake options and 4 questions to determine which calorie intake you will use. This doesn’t really work for the person who is trying to maintain their fitness results and need upwards of 2500 calories per day to do so. If you are not trying to lose fat, then I recommend following a maintenance diet based on the P90X nutrition plan. But the 4-step calorie quiz is an awesome way to very quickly (and college-level-math free way) of determining how many calories per day you should be eating to lose fat.
WARNING!
You should know that the calorie needs of a 140lb person and a 250lb person are very different. 1200 calories for one might not work out so well for another and vice versa. The important thing is that you listen to your body and adjust your calorie intake as needed so that you are not feeling depleted. Here is a video explaining more:
Focus T25 Review – My Overall Experience & Opinions
I am exstatic about T25 and cant give it enough praise! What I am even more excited about are the results that our RIPPEDCLUB team members are getting! My buddy Armando lost 11.4lbs in his first 6 days!!! My friend Judd lost 8lbs in his first 6 days!!! And there are countless other stories and results I could share, but the bottom line is that T25 works! You actually can workout LESS and get BETTER results!
You can follow the meals from the T25 nutrition guide, but if you are 200+ pounds…dont shoot for 1600 calories per day. I would follow something more along the lines of the P90X nutrition guide. This will be safer and you will still get amazing results!
Let me know your thoughts on T25 so far! Give your own little “Focus T25 review” in the comments below and let know what you have experienced! Are you getting results? Are you finding it difficult to get results? How is the nutrition plan working out for you? We want to hear from YOU! Post below!
PS – For the entire month of July (2013) theFocus T25 Challenge Pack is on sale for $180…then it goes up to $205. So if you have been thinking about getting T25, that would be a great deal to take advantage of! If you want to check out other ordering options, just go here
